SA Cares took Mary on a tour of an “Informal Settlement” in South Africa known as The Plastic City…..

Even in today’s world, 1 in 200 people are exploited or enslaved. Exitus operates to free exploited or enslaved individuals and provide them with sustainable pathways designed for their healing and success — long-term.

Find

We strive to form relationships with those being exploited and those doing the exploiting. With these relationships, we can form plans for exit pathways and rescue for those that don’t have the means for escape.

Exit

Exit pathways are crucial for those trapped in this world of trafficking and slavery. They need to know they are heard and trust that they have a way out. We offer them ways out and into a protected environment or healing and education.

Heal

We will argue that this is the most important step. Those affected by trafficking need healing care. The needs vary from psychology to trauma care and healthcare, and then to education providing tools needed to be successful after exploitation.

The Younique Foundation

Another non-profit that Mary supports is the Younique Foundation. They are advocates for children who have been sexually abused. In their words…

“We inspire hope in women who were sexually abused as children or adolescents by providing healing services through retreats, survivor communities, and online resources.
